That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our family, starting October 15th, Dr. Lauren Nicholson! Dr. Nicholson is a talented and compassionate dentist who brings skill, artistry, and heart to every patient interaction.
We sat down with Dr. Nicholson for a quick Q&A so you can get to know the person behind the mask and scrubs!
A Calling to Make a Difference
When asked what inspired her to pursue dentistry, Dr. Lauren Nicholson shared a passion that goes beyond the technical aspects of the job.
“I became a dentist because I wanted a career that allowed me to make a positive impact on my patients’ lives,” she says. “I’ve always been interested in healthcare, but dentistry offers a unique combination of science, art, and the chance to build long-term relationships with patients. I love seeing their progress over time.”
That blend of creativity and connection is what truly sets her apart.
Education & Expertise
Dr. Nicholson earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from SUNY New Paltz before going on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the NYU College of Dentistry—one of the top dental schools in the country.
Her clinical skills are solid, but it’s her personalized approach to care that really shines through.
“I always tailor each decision to a patient’s individual goals,” she explains. “And I make sure to walk them through every step so they feel confident and informed.”
Aesthetic Excellence: Passion for Anterior Crowns
While she enjoys all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Nicholson has a particular interest in anterior crowns—restorations for the front teeth that can transform a person’s smile.
“These treatments often have the biggest impact on self-esteem,” she shares. “It’s incredibly rewarding to help someone achieve the smile they’ve worked so hard for.”

Life Beyond the Office
Originally from Sayville, New York—a charming beach town on Long Island—Dr. Nicholson brings a love of the outdoors to Richmond. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, beach days, and cozying up on the couch with a good sitcom.
Oh, and here’s a fun fact: she has a pet bearded dragon!
And when it comes to local eats? She’s already a fan of Cochiloco for tacos. (We approve.)
